Dr. Kaitlyn N. Staal, ND, M.Ac is a CT-state licensed Naturopathic physician. She received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine with highest honors of Summa Cum Laude from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, and completed her Masters in Acupuncture at the same institution, Summa Cum Laude. She is also a proud member of the National Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the American Association for Naturopathic Physicians, and the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association.
Dr. Kat is passionate about Biochemistry, Neurobiology/Neuroplasticity, Psychology, Endocrinology, Nutrition, Oncology, Craniosacral Therapy, Acupuncture and Qigong. She has observed that both science-based healing and the less understood modality of energy healing are equally profound and valid methods of rediscovering health. In fact, she believes that science simply does not yet have the tools to measure and objectively quantify these more energetic manipulations of the body. In this light, Dr. K does not see a disconnect between science and spirit-based medicine; rather, she views them as being on the same spectrum of human health and healing. She focuses on both the physical and mental/emotional aspects of her patients, and believes that one without the other is an incomplete picture of a patient's total wellbeing. She experiences time and time again that as such, we cannot make significant, lasting, and bounding health improvements without acknowledging both the body and the mind. |
As an undergraduate, she spent time learning about herself and the ways of the world and its people in the diverse community of New York City as well as by being immersed in the beautiful culture of Paris. She spent countless hours studying and exploring Philosophy, Medical Sciences, History, Art, Psychology and French Literature at New York University, NYU in Paris, and the American University of Paris. She completed further medical studies at Stony Brook University, NY.
During her free time, Dr. Kat loves doing independent research, indoor and outdoor gardening, and snuggling with her two big pups at home. She loves to read, dance, play volleyball, and is a true 'foodie,' in her own kitchen and out on the town.
She believes that life is about balance, loving and caring for one another, & spiritual and moral growth and development.
